our gastro philosophy

1 Stay close to nature - we're part of it afterall
The closer the food you eat is to its natural state the better it is for you. We promote foods that haven't been tampered with, added to or taken away from.

We prefer to stick to fresh products that haven't been processed in any way; choosing food preserved in ways that don't involved chemicals, such as drying pickling or preserved in oil.

2 ‘Full fat’ is fine
‘Diet’ or ‘reduced’ usually means what’s been taken out is replaced with something else, or just has less of the offending substance added. Going back to our first principle, we try to keep it as nature intended.

3 Everything in moderation
Denial only leads to obsession, so we think its best to enjoy your favourite things, just keep them in proportion. If one follows the first two principles, no real food is bad unless over indulged. Just know what limits are appropriate and allow the occasional overindulgence... it reminds you why you don't do it all the time!

4 Eat food that will nourish your body, mind and soul
Food is a wonderful thing; it gives your body what it needs to keep healthy, energised and strong; engages the senses and provides a medium for love, friendship and creativity.

It's not rocket science...

The food, drink and eating-places we recommend here all fit with these basic
principles, as do our own catering services.
